MOUS PRIVACY POLICY

Mous Products Ltd.

Your privacy is genuinely important to us, so we’ve developed a Privacy Policy that explains how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, and store your information.

We use Rakuten Advertising which drops 3rd party cookies to ensure that we give you the best experience on our website.

We’ve tried to make it as transparent as possible, but this is a privacy policy, so some amount of legalese is unavoidable. If some bits seem unclear or you have any questions, please contact us.

COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Personal information is data that can be used to identify or contact an individual.

We and our affiliates may share this personal information with each other to carry out business and legal obligations (such as shipping our products to you and making sure that you are eligible for our lifetime warranty) and use it consistent with this Privacy Policy and UK and EU law. You are not required to provide the personal information that we have requested, but, if you choose not to do so, in many cases we will not be able to provide you with our products or services or respond to any queries you may have.

Here are the types of personal information we collect and how we may use it:

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DOES MOUS COLLECT?

When you order a product from our website or affiliated online retailer, we will need to process information such as your payment details, shipping address, billing address name, and email address. If you sign up to our mailing list through our sign up forms, in addition to your email address, we’ll collect your birthday and phone number details, if you choose to provide them to us, to give you relevant details on offers, competitions, and just general news that you might find interesting. If you contact our customer service, details of your interactions will be recorded to be able to provide you with excellent service regarding your order or enquiry. We will also record your details if you choose to review our products and services. When you visit the Mous website we collect details of your visit to our website and which site you came from to ours. We also collect information gathered by the use of cookies in your web browser including details about the device you use to access our website and your geolocation. Some of the aforementioned personal data is collected directly, for example when you make a purchase via our website, or send an email to our customer service team. Other personal data is collected indirectly, for example your browsing or shopping activity.

Remember, if you choose not to share your personal data with us, or refuse certain contact permissions, we might not be able to provide some services you’ve asked for.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I FAIL TO PROVIDE NECESSARY PERSONAL INFORMATION?

If you fail to provide certain information when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have entered into with you (such as providing you with our products or services), or we may be prevented from complying with our legal obligations.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

The vast majority of the personal information we collect allows us to deliver your product to you and ensure that if any issues arise we can solve them with you, your courier, or within Mous. As our cases come with a lifetime warranty, we also store some personal data to be able to verify that you have purchased one of our cases and are eligible for the warranty.

With your consent, or whenever you purchase with us and do not choose out of receiving our updates, we will use your personal data, preferences and details of your transactions to keep you informed by email, web, text, telephone and through our contact centres about relevant products and services including tailored special offers, discounts, promotions, events, competitions and so on. If you change your mind you can always opt out from these communications by contacting us or using unsubscribe functionality.

We may process your personal information for our legitimate business interests. ‘Legitimate Business Interests’ means the interests of our company in conducting and managing our business to enable us to give you the best service/products and the best and most secure experience. It can and does also apply to processing which is in your interests too. Processing for our legitimate interests may include processing for the purposes of (i) fraud prevention and compliance; (ii) certain direct marketing and promotional activities (such as sending you email or text notifications when you place a product in your basket and you abandon your browsing before completing your checkout or similar); (iii) the provision and operation of referral marketing programmes; (iv) network and information systems security; (v) data analytics; (vi) enhancing, modifying or improving our service; (vii) identifying usage trends; or (viii) determining the effectiveness of promotional campaigns or advertising. In connection with the above activities, we may share your personal information with trusted suppliers who assist us in our data processing activities.

From time to time, we may use your personal information to send important notices, such as communications about purchases and changes to our products, terms, conditions, and policies, or to send you surveys, product or service feedback requests to help improve our services. Because this information is important to your interaction with Mous, you cannot opt out of receiving these communications. If you have particular concerns about this, please contact us and someone on our team will be happy to help.

We may also use personal information for internal purposes such as auditing our processes, fixing problems that customers experience, data analysis, and research to improve our products, services, and customer service. However, we always make sure that the amount of personal data used is the absolute minimum required to do the job.

If you enter into a sweepstake, contest, or similar promotion we may use the information you provide to administer those programs.

We may collect information such as language, unique device identifier, referrer URL, location, and the time zone where the order was placed so that we can better understand customer behaviour and improve our products, services, and advertising.

COLLECTION AND USE OF NON-PERSONAL INFORMATION

We also collect data in a form that does not, on its own, permit direct association with any specific individual. We may collect, use, transfer, and disclose non-personal information for any purpose. The following are some examples of non-personal information that we collect and how we may use it:

We may collect anonymous data regarding customer activities on our website. This data cannot be traced back to any individual and is aggregated and used to help us provide more useful information to our customers and to understand which parts of our website, products, and services are of most interest, or what our customer demographics are.
